Bernard has 30 years international business experience from consulting to financial services, telecommunications, marketing and executive search. He started his career with Arthur Andersen in Belgium in 1977 and later joined the Eternit Group as Finance & Administration Manager for their overseas subsidiaries in Indonesia, Burundi and Kenya. In 1987 he established his own consulting firm and acted as crisis manager in various organisations in turnaround situations or as Executive Interim Manager in fast growing companies. In 2004 he entered the head-hunting business and has set up and run his own businesses in both Belgium and South Africa, bringing not only sound international connections to the business, but also an intimate understanding and experience of the sourcing of scarce skills.

Friisberg Southern Africa was formed from the merger of Ukusa and Deros International with Friisberg SA, two regional head hunting practices with 15 years search experience in Southern Africa. The 4 partners have over 100 years of regional and international corporate industry experience between them as all have operated in senior and executive functions. They are well respected in their fields of expertise. Friisberg Southern Africa offers a comprehensive range of resourcing solutions, including global, regional and international executive search, management audits and a range of other outsourced business solutions. Friisberg SA is also a recognised empowered local company with the Executive Chairman Themba Mtombeni currently elected the runner ups “Boss of the Year” in the Deloitte & Touché Company Survey 2010. Deros International formally joined the partnership as Friisberg Southern Africa in January 2011.
